Editorial policy

PensionCalc is published by EVELCON LTD (registered in England & Wales, company no. 12860639). This page explains how we produce and maintain the site's calculators and guides.

Sourcing

Every rate, threshold, and rule on this site is taken from a published official source: GOV.UK publications and guidance, HMRC manuals, the scheme administrators (NHS Business Services Authority, Teachers' Pensions, Civil Service Pensions), the Office for National Statistics, and the PLSA. We cite sources on each calculator page and list the formulas on our methodology page. We do not use figures we cannot trace to an official publication.

Review cadence

UK pension and tax figures change at the start of each tax year. We review every constant after each April uprating and whenever a significant announcement changes the rules mid-year. Each calculator shows the tax year it uses and a last-reviewed date.

Accuracy and its limits

Our tools are general estimators. They make simplifying assumptions, which we state on each calculator page, and they cannot see your personal scheme record. Where our estimate differs from your scheme's statement or an official GOV.UK forecast, the official figure is correct. We publish general information, not financial advice, and we are not authorised or regulated by the FCA.

Corrections

We want to be told when we're wrong. Report errors to info@pensioncalc.co.uk. Confirmed factual errors are fixed promptly.

Attribution

Content is published under the PensionCalc name rather than individual bylines. We prefer to earn trust by showing our working — formulas, sources, and worked examples — rather than by attaching names to articles. Responsibility for everything on this site rests with the publisher, EVELCON LTD.

How the site is funded

PensionCalc is free to use. The site is funded by advertising (Google AdSense) and voluntary donations. Advertisers have no influence over our figures, calculators, or editorial content. We do not accept payment for coverage, do not publish sponsored content, and have no affiliate relationships with pension providers.
